WPC's Re-gathering Plan

UPDATED 06/28/2020

Your patience and understanding are much appreciated!  Our staff and volunteers will be working hard to help make this a good and healthy experience for all!

Phase 2

Starting July 5

Livestream service will shift to 10:30am.  We encourage people in vulnerable populations to continue to worship from home.

An outside-worship service at 9:00am will be in the Emory Road House back lawn. Our indoor service at 10:30am will be open to 200 people (50% capacity) in Sanctuary & Fellowship Hall. Both services will be conducted in ways to maximize physical distance and safe practices.

CHILDREN are welcome!  However, no nursery or childcare will be offered during this phase.  This might still be a season to remain at home.

There will also be NO YOUTH or ADULT Bible Studies.

9:00 Service (NEW TIME)

  • Our worship team will lead from the Emory Road House deck. A 60'x40' tent will provide shade for some worshippers and a large fan will provide some airflow.  Families are asked to observe 6 feet of physical distance from others.  Masks are strongly encouraged.
  • ARRIVAL: Please plan to arrive 15-30 minutes early in order to be prepared to begin at 9:00. Anticipate this service to last around 45 minutes.
  • SEATING: Chairs will not be provided - we encourage attendees to bring chairs or blankets. Pop-up tents may also be used along the fence line or in the parking lot.
  • CHILDREN: Parents are encouraged to bring snacks and toys for younger children. The playground will be closed each Sunday except for traveling from the parking lot to the Emory Road House lawn.
  • RAIN PLAN: In the event of Inclement weather, outdoor service may be canceled. This decision will be made by 8am on Sunday.

10:30am Service (NEW TIME)

  • ARRIVAL: Please plan to arrive 15-30 minutes early in order to be prepared to begin at 10:30. Anticipate this service to last 60-70 minutes.
  • ENTRANCE: Enter through doors to main hallway from Pineville or Emory Roads. Temperatures will be checked for each attendee. Those with a temperature higher than 100.5° will be asked to return home. Masks are required and will be provided for those who do not have their own. Hand sanitizer will be provided and required.
  • SEATING: Ushers will direct attendees to sanctuary using side and center aisles. Guests will sit as close to the end of pews as possible. Families may sit together but must allow 6 feet of separation from others. Every other pew will be closed.  Seating capacity will be 100.  Overflow will be In the Fellowship Hall.
  • OVERFLOW: Ushers will direct attendees to the Fellowship Hall where chairs are placed 6 feet apart. Families may move chairs together but must maintain 6 feet of distance from others. Worshippers will be dismissed by ushers with those in the front half of the room exiting through the front into the courtyard and those in the back exiting through the hall doors to the kitchen lobby.
  • BATHROOMS will be available but under physical distancing guidelines. We request them to be used only in case of an emergency.
  • OFFERING BOXES will be at tables for 10:30 service and at the front of the deck at the 9:00am service.

Thank you again for your patience!  While we await a return to a "normal" schedule, we trust you will pray for our staff and leaders and communicate with us here.
