Rev. Dale Rawlings | Community Outreach Pastor

Dale Rawlings was born and raised in West Virginia. Prior to attending Union Theological Seminary, in Richmond, Virginia, Dale served 5 different churches in West Virginia as a Commissioned Lay Preacher in Shenandoah Presbytery. Dale and his family lived in Romney, West Virginia for some 20 plus years and were active members of the Romney Presbyterian Church. Romney is said to have changed hands 56 times during the Civil War. Dale has served as Pastor of the Word and Sacrament at Midway Presbyterian Church, near Manning, SC and Roberts Presbyterian Church, in Anderson, SC. Dale also served as an Interim Parish Associate Pastor at Central Presbyterian Church in Anderson, SC and as Interim Associate Pastor here at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Dale is now semi-retired and is currently serving Westminster Presbyterian Church as the Community Outreach Minister. This ministry includes reaching out to our members here at Westminster as well as to the entire Spartanburg community. Here at Westminster, Dale’s duties include weekly hospital and home visitations and communion serves, and follow up hospital visitations. Dale also minsters to the entire Spartanburg community. He conducts weekly Bible Studies at Dillon Pointe Assisted Living Retirement Community, Eden Terrace Memory Care and Eden Terrace Assisting Living Retirement Community. He works with the WPC Communion Team and together they conduct communion services, each month, at 7 of our retirement communities here in the Spartanburg area. Dale also co-facilitates the GriefShare Group Ministry, this group meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m.

Dale is a graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Science Degree. He earned his Masters of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Virginia. Dale and Patty were married May 11, 1968. They have two children, Amy and Brett. Amy is married to Stephen Cianciolo and they live in Anderson, SC. They have two children, Olivia and Carter. Dr. Amy owns and operates Direct Access MD which is a Direct Primary Care Medical Practice in Anderson, SC. Steve is on active duty with the US Army. Brett’s wife’s name is Amy and they live in Anderson, SC. Brett is a Senior Art Director for TTI North America/Ryobi Power Tools in Anderson and they have two children, Harley Monet and Aiden. Amy Rawlings is the Director of Children’s Ministries at Central Presbyterian Church in Anderson, SC.
