Men's Ministry
We believe that to know how to make life more meaningful, we must study how Jesus lived. While we know that we will fall short of His example, we can still find comfort in knowing that He already expects us to. He is there to forgive us and encourage us to move forward in our pursuit of Making Men More Meaningful.

Men's Retreat 2024

Escape the daily grind and immerse yourself in an overnight weekend retreat designed exclusively for men. So come join with some men, reconnect with nature, and rediscover your inner “beast”.

Location: We'll be in a secluded haven on private land about 12 minutes from Westminster (in White Stone, SC). Think of this as fun, natural space - Good for walks, exploring, fishing, camping, hammocking, and more.

What to Expect:

  • Teaching: From none other than David Wise (see below), president of Harper Corporation and big brother to Steve Wise. Our topic(s) will include: making the most of time and the importance of meaningful relationships with other men.

  • Group Time: We’ll unpack some of the teaching time by getting into some smaller group discussions.

  • Manly Meals: No foraging required. We'll eat well. :D

  • Tent Life: Opt in for a more rugged experience by tent camping on the property. Otherwise, you’ll be driving in for our 2 sessions together.

Dates & Registration:

  • Dates: Friday, October 25-26

  • Registration Fee: $40 (Includes all activities and meals)

More on our Speaker:

David Wise is a follower of Jesus, husband, father and businessman in our community.  He serves as the president of the Harper Corporation – a large general construction contractor.  David served as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Spartanburg on multiple occasions and remains involved in church leadership.   He and his wife Katherine lead their Sunday School Class/Life Group – serving in that capacity for well over 30 years.  (They did both graduate from Presbyterian College, though.)   His daughter Mary Katherine Anderson is a member of our church along with her husband Joe.  David’s son, Clarke, is a radiologist in Wilmington, NC.  David’s brother Steve attributes much of his life and ministry to David’s influence not only as a young man but to this day.   David is known for his faithfulness and integrity in his life and work.

Small Groups

Men gather in different ways at WPC and in our community.  Our main avenue of meaningful experiences is through small groups.

  • Small groups - View a list of current groups.
  • Theology on Tap - A monthly conversation on theological topics at a local pub
  • Basketball (coaching/playing)
  • Softball
  • Service Teams

If you are looking to get more involved with 4M or a small group - or want to see something added to the above list - email us
